About the Role
We are looking for an experienced AI Engineer to join our team and take ownership of the complete machine learning lifecycle – from research and development to production deployment. As an AI Engineer at HCON, you'll work on diverse client projects, designing and implementing AI solutions that solve real business problems while ensuring they can scale reliably in production environments.
You'll be responsible for developing sophisticated machine learning models, implementing MLOps best practices, and working closely with our cloud engineering team to create robust deployment pipelines. This role requires someone who can navigate the entire AI development stack – from data preprocessing and model training to containerization and monitoring in production.
At HCON, you won't just be building models in isolation. You'll be part of our core mission to "productionize ML," which means every solution you develop needs to be production-ready, maintainable, and scalable. You'll work across industries from fintech to IoT, gaining exposure to diverse use cases while applying cutting-edge AI techniques to solve complex business challenges.
This position offers the opportunity to work with both established ML frameworks and emerging AI technologies, including Large Language Models, computer vision, and advanced optimization techniques.
Requirements
Essential Technical Skills:
Master's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, or related field, or equivalent experience
3+ years of hands-on experience in machine learning and AI development
Proficiency in Python and key ML libraries (scikit-learn, pandas, numpy, PyTorch/TensorFlow)
Experience with MLOps tools and practices (MLflow, DVC, Weights & Biases, or similar)
Strong foundation in statistics, linear algebra, and optimization
Experience with containerization (Docker) and version control (Git)
Knowledge of data engineering concepts and ETL pipelines
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with Large Language Models (LLMs) and prompt engineering
Knowledge of computer vision techniques and frameworks (OpenCV, YOLO, etc.)
Experience with distributed computing frameworks (Spark, Ray, Dask)
Familiarity with cloud ML services (AWS SageMaker, Azure ML, GCP AI Platform)
Understanding of model interpretability and fairness techniques
Experience with A/B testing and experimental design
Knowledge of time series forecasting and anomaly detection
Domain Expertise (Plus):
Experience in fintech, IoT, or industrial applications
Understanding of recommendation systems and personalization
Knowledge of natural language processing and text analytics
Experience with reinforcement learning applications
Soft Skills:
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
Excellent communication skills in English and German
Ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions
Collaborative mindset and experience working in cross-functional teams
Passion for staying current with AI/ML research and industry trends
